Set Conditions

In military terms, "you have set conditions for the next course of action -- to finalize things."  "Set conditions" means the air campaign has done its part, the mortars have worked, the reconnaissance team has given the lay of the land, and all that is left is for you to take your ground forces in."  He said every general would prefer to have the opponent attack them in their stronghold, but it rarely works that way.  At some point -- when set conditions are present -- you simply must act.  Otherwise, the other party will wait you out, trapping you in your own bunker for an interminable period.  So be willing to take the fight on.  Know you'll have casualties, but inaction has its own casualties, too.
