Aura

a crescent moon on a crispy white morning
just before sunrise
with Jupiter and Venus bearing bold witness
to the making of a new day

i happened to walk outside
at just the right moment
at just the right time
to catch these two gleaming and dancing
in the waning darkness
just before the Sun exerted her full influence

oh and to the naked eye,
the smaller was so much larger
that I could easily have been fooled
into thinking both were stars
and Venus the more protective

i love it when creation catches me offguard
when it makes me age younger and through
childlike eyes, with no more cataracts,
it permits me to see the aura
