Distinctiveness

The great disadvantage of religion
as morality police officer, Javert,
is that all snowflakes look just alike,
when, instead, each of us are divinely
inspired to be as different as fingerprints
in some way connected to the whole,
but, in principle, distinct and distinctive.

Prayer reinforces just that distinctiveness,
that connectedness

as branch to vine with poetic license.
