Am I more Bracewell than Gillis or Ikner

Reverend Robert was born and baptized

On my very birthday 352 years before

He in Holborn at Saint Andrew

And oddly enough now I have

One of those too, now 21 himself

And unwittingly, I married a Londoner

Who, on Maundy Thursday, invited

Me to Saint Paul’s, a mere stone’s throw

Mere coincidences that are my fate

As I return to my forebears as if

They are somehow alive within me

I’m an Englishone in Virginia

And now during Coronavirus

So is my English wife, too
