Hypertension

Over time tension tightens the springs
That wend their way into every jointed crevice
Of the body’s service
And
Stores away like sugar turns to fat
Imperceptibly

The body knows it must learn
To relax and so it turns to whatever substance
Might deliver release
And
Some form of oxytocin-like rush
May rescue me
